Ledgers

Below are links to scans of various ledgers. For example, accounts of expenditures, various inventories -- especially the 1877 ledger which could be records of inventory of a store that DA either managed, owned, or was in partnership with.

1877 Ledger. Measures approx. 6.5" x 4". Also cataloged in the Diaries section. This ledger contains among other things, an inventory of what appears to be store goods: dry goods, drugs, notions, etc., as well as some personal notes such as birthdates of his children. It is particularly interesting to see the store-goods ledger of 1877 because the 1882 WV State Gazzatteer and Business Driectly lists D. A. Landes as a blacksmith and running a general store in Brushy Run:

1908-17 Ledger. Measures approx. 6.5" x 4". Appears to be mostly a ledger of banking transactions, but a thorough examination needs to be done.

1921 Ledger. A small book measuring approx. 4.75" x 3.25". Probably a surveying ledger. No exact date but could have been 1921. This includes 2 notes about his mother's death (Christina). See inside front cover and pages 19-20.
